"anti-capitalist nerd-punk"

Hi we're Dub Jackson Band, from Daajing.Giids ("Queen Charlotte City"), Haida Gwaii.

We play swing punk music about how fucked up the world is,
and also about zombies and pirates and stuff like that.

We are committed to the principles of Ging Gang Hla tllG̲ad ("do it yourself"), and strive to cultivate and contribute to a thriving independent music scene on Haida Gwaii.

We are opposed to the colonial/patriarchal/racist/classist power structures which perpetuate the oppression of billions of humans worldwide and the ongoing destruction of our home planet in the name of greed.

We believe our angsty ironic punk songs will help destroy global capitalist hegemony.
You can buy our EP on Bandcamp and  "Like" us on the FACE-BOOK if you want to help too.

Alan Moore - Bass & Vocals

Ging Gang Hla tllG̲ad means "do it yourself," and that's what we're all about.

We are a collective of artists dedicated to promoting the independent music scene on Haida Gwaii. We believe that through cooperation and mutual aid, local artists can elevate each other and accomplish things together that would never be possible individually.

Ging Gang Hla tllG̲ad literally translates to "help yourself," and that reminds us why we do this. We're all in this together, and when we help each, other we help ourselves.

If you want to be involved, please get in touch.

Ging Gang Hla tllG̲ad began with the Guy Fawkes Yourself  punk rock show on November 7th, 2015 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 220 on the occupied territories of the Haida Nation, in Daajing.giids, Haida Gwaii ("Queen Charlotte City, British Columbia, Canada"), when Haida punk rockers Jason Camp & the Posers joined force with the anti-capitalist swing punkers Dub Jackson Band for a headline show.

The following spring, these bands hosted and headlined another couple shows, recorded an E.P. each, and struck out on a tour of the mainland. Shows in Prince George, Smithers, Terrace, and Prince Rupert were all wild and uniquely formative experiences for this raw one-two punk rock punch.

After taking the stage by storm at the Edge of the World Music Festival in Tlell, the Ging Gang upped the ante for the second annual Guy Fawkes Yourself. With the defeat and closure of the Legion, the event was moved to the Queen Charlotte Community Hall. With a bill including the Haida metalheads Reznecks, the elusive rapper Ja$e El Niño, the famous Ukeladies uke troupe, the tv punk tribute Ramoops, and the smooth-skating moves of the 626 Razor Clams Rollerderby Team, this show had something for the whole family, and with an all-ages license, patrons from ages 5-70+ had a great time all around. The atmosphere was augmented by the beer on tap from our friends at Wheelhouse Brewing Co. (delivered by float plane, no less), and food from Edi's Food Truck to made sure nobody went home hungry.

With the release of Jason Camp & the Posers' debut music video and a live video from Dub Jackson Band, and another headline show at Wheelhouse in Prince Rupert during the All-Native Basketball Tournament, Ging Gang Hla
tllG̲ad are continuing to grow their capacity and develop this exciting music community on Haida Gwaii.
